Can I go on a tour later than the one assigned for my ship?

No. You must go on the tour assigned to your ship. We simply do not have the capacity to allow people to switch tours, and we would like everyone to have a chance to experience St. Martin/St. Maarten.

Can you accomodate customers at the pier or walk-up customers? Do you require advanced reservations?

Unfortunately, government regulations prevent us from entering the port areas without a valid reservation.However, we accept “walk-up” customers ”only” if there is availability, and all reservations must be made in advance.

Is the deposit required? Can I pay in full? How much does it cost to make a reservation?

Yes, there is a required deposit. The deposit is $5/pp + processing fees for group tours, and 25% + fees + ($10/pp if more than 5 people) for private tours. We no longer accept full payment.

What is your cancellation policy? Does it apply if the ship misses the port?

Bernard’s Tours will allow fully refundable cancellation up to (8) business days before departure date or vacation date start. At (8) business days before your starting date of vacation Bernard’s tours will (not allow any refund of payment) except if conditions made it impossible for the ship to dock and disembark passenger in a timely manner, or if your flight is cancelled, or if the vender is cancelled due to equipment of weather problems.

Are your vans safe? Can we leave our valuables in the vans?

We have had no instances of theft in the last ten years. Our drivers are trustworthy and carefully chosen.

Will we be picked up/dropped off at the same location? When should we expect to be picked up?

Yes, the meeting place is about 4 minutes’ walk from the ship, located next to the security booth. At the backside of the harbor. The location is called the Sand-banks.

Is there duty free shopping in Marigot and Phillipsburg?

Yes, we have the best duty free shopping in the Caribbean!

What happens if my ship arrives late?

Cruise ships typically arrive and depart like clockwork. On those rare occasions when a ship does arrive late, we make necessary accommodations to ensure that our guests’ day goes off without a hitch. A very late arrival may reduce the number of tour stops, the sites one sees, and how long we stop at each site, yet this is a very rare occurrence.

Are you certain we will get back to our ship on time?

Yes, we are absolutely certain. Enjoy your tour with 100% confidence that we will get you back to your ship/flight with time to spare. We deal with strict time constraints every single day.

Do you share the information that I provide to you with third parties?

No. We do not share, rent or sell your private information to anyone, promise.

Can cruise passengers visit both Dutch and French side?

Yes. Cruise passengers simply do have enough time to see the Dutch and French side of the islands.

Will refreshments be provided? What about lunch?

Yes. We offer complimentary bottled water and soda and Rum punch on our tours. Many of our destinations will have restaurants for your enjoyment.

How and when do we pay?

We take care of this at the beginning of your tour, allowing us to get the administrative issues out of the way so we can focus the entire day on our beautiful islands. We kindly ask for payment in cash (US $) or credit cards.

What is your policy for children? Is the tour children-friendly? What about Orient Beach?

If you are traveling with children (Please be advised) Orient Beach has full nudity on the Club Orient part of the beach. Partial nudity MAY occur on the rest of the beach.

How much are tours for children 2 and under?

Children 0-10 years of age pay half price, children 10 and older pay full price. Parents with car-seats pay full prices.

Are there restaurants at Orient beach?

A variety of restaurants with varying cuisines are available. Please note all restaurants on the beach accept Euros and United States Dollars. This can make dining more expensive for customers in countries where the exchange rate favors the Euro. Please note all prices and exchange rates.

How do I pay at Restaurants on the Beach?

Do we accept wheelchairs?

Unfortunately, we do not accept wheelchairs. 

Are there restroom breaks on the tours?

Yes. Our tours include several stops with restroom facilities.

What happens if my ship arrives before schedule tour time?

Ships that arrive at the port between 6-8:30 am departs at 9:30 am.
Ships that arrive from 9:00 am onwards, tours leave a half hour after.

what is the difference between tour 1 and tour 2?

Tour 1 does not have a swimming time limit, whereas tour 2 the swim time is 2 hours.
